    About Anna Friedberg

Anna L. Friedberg, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, is a graduate of Louisiana State University (B.A. in History, 1992) and the University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D., 1995). During law school, Ms. Friedberg focused on criminal law and evidence, collaborating with Professor Neil P. Cohen in the creation of a criminal procedure textbook.

Immediately following law school, Ms. Friedberg joined the Knox County Public Defender’s Office, an innovator in the field of community-based legal representation. She practiced with the KCPDO for 11 years, aggressively advocating for criminal defendants in all phases of litigation - bail hearings, pretrial motion practice, trial, sentencing, and appeals.

Ms. Friedberg fought for her clients in a wide variety of misdemeanor, felony, and complex death penalty cases. Ms. Friedberg also honed her trial skills outside the courtroom, by attending the National Criminal Defense College, the preeminent criminal defense training center in the United States.

In March of 2006, Ms. Friedberg relocated to New York City where she joined the New York Bar. She worked as a civil litigation attorney for Axiom Legal, where she was a member of legal task force that handled anti-trust and patent litigation both in New York and London.

Ms. Friedberg joined a boutique criminal defense firm, Charles A. Ross and Associates, in April 2007, a return to her practice of criminal defense in both state and federal courts of New York.

In December 2009, she came home to Louisiana to be near her family. She worked at the Orleans Public Defenders Office until opening her own law firm in early 2012.
